This platform design to provide care basic information about the disease profile of the most common NCDS, and available services in Sri Lanka. 

Noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) kill 41 million people each year, equivalent to 71% of all deaths globally. Detection, screening and treatment of NCDs, as well as palliative care, are key components of the response to NCDs.

CANCER

The cancer burden continues to grow globally, exerting tremendous physical, emotional and financial strain on individuals, families, communities and health systems. 

DIABETES

About 422 million people worldwide have diabetes, particularly in low-and middle-income countries, and 1.6 million deaths are directly attributed to diabetes each year

STROKE

Stroke, the sudden death of some brain cells due to lack of oxygen when the blood flow to the brain is lost by blockage or rupture of an artery to the brain, is also a leading cause of dementia and depression.

DEMENTIA

Dementia is one of the major causes of disability and dependency among older people worldwide. It can be overwhelming, not only for the people who have it, but also for their carers and families. 

OBESITY

Overweight and obesity are major risk factors for a number of chronic diseases, including diabetes, cardiovascular diseases and cancer. Once considered a problem only in high income countries, overweight and obesity are now dramatically on the rise in low- and middle-income countries,

ASTHMA

Asthma is a common lung condition that causes sporadic breathing difficulties. It often starts in childhood, although it can also develop in adults, and affects people of all ages.
